Ash Wednesday

On Ash Wednesday, the inhabitants of Remich – the Pearl of the Moselle –traditionally ensure a fitting ‘funeral’ for Carnival. A straw figure is carried through the streets and then set on fire on the bridge that crosses the Moselle to Nennig.
